The chance of excellent pictures is often missed by not taking
the plunge. Film and TV crews often work on location, and the
possibility of pictures is always there.
Here, the BBC were shooting scenes for 'OLIVER' in Lincoln. I let
the wife carry on with the shopping trip and returned to the car
for my cameras. I then asked a girl carrying a radio if I could
take some shots.
She said that I could come inside the temporary fencing as long
as I got out of the way and stopped taking pictures each time a
'shot' was to be filmed. YOU MUST COMPLY !
I got some good shots, despite a VERY low light level. I used two
cameras, both with short zooms, and mono in one and colour in the
other. I also used a monopod and took care to get nothing modern
in the background - cars, TV aerials, scaffolding, etc.
Ask, stick to the rules, and there are good shots to be had.
